Song of the Week - #33 - "O Little Town of Bethlehem"
This has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs. I love the melody and the reminder that God chose a small, seemingly insignificant place to bring the greatest gift the world would ever know! It brings so much hope to all of us that our God can use simple things, places, and people like us to show his glory!
Special thanks to my daughter Emmie for playing and singing with me on this song. Thank you to Carlos Gallardo-Candia for producing Song of the Week.
Micah 5:2 NIV “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”
1Cor1:26-30 NIV "Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption."
2Cor.4:7 NIV "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us."
