Song of the Week - #12 - "Water Into Wine"
This song is taken from Jesus’s first recorded miracle in the Bible (John 2:1-11) where He turned water into wine. One thing I love about this story is that God chose a party to be the setting in which he would perform His first miracle. I think some of us, myself included, can be ‘celebration challenged’. But God appears to love festivals, feasts, celebrations, and parties and encourages us to set aside times to really celebrate His goodness. This is also the reason I have attempted to make the music of the song fun and joyful.
While turning gallons and gallons of water into wine is an astonishing miracle, the greatest miracle of all is the miracle of the New Birth and a changed life from the inside out.
Special thanks to Knox Summerour for his fantastic trumpet playing, and to Tony and Tina Rondinella for hosting us in their beautiful home and on their boat so that we could record this song in such a fun way. And as always, to my dear friend Carlos Gallardo-Candia for recording the video. I hope you are as blessed hearing this as I was in recording it!
John 1:12, 13 NLT ”But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.”
2 Cor. 5:17, 18 ESV "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;”
Jeremiah 32:27 NIV “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”
Mark 10:27 NIV "Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.'"
